Sound
It was decided early on that we should collect the sounds ourselves either by going out with a microphone and recording them or making original sound also know as Foley to cover the movements, actions and voices for our characters
Nick collected sound for clothing by rubbing tea towels together as well as working on realistic sounds for the drainpipe. He achieved this by simply using a pipe and bowl. All these sounds will help to add some realism into the film, and give Nigel and Mabel, and the world they live in, some life.
Simply by using household items such as apples dropping into mugs or rustling paper inside plastic bags a plethora of different sounds can be created.

Using Adobe’s Audition software the sound is recorded straight into the computer making it easier to tweak and deliver straight to the video editing software and position it on the timeline.
Mary, our stop motion technician, kindly helped us out with voicing the lovely Mabel. A few hours were spent in the foley studio collecting a range of different mumbles and shouts to fit in with Mabel no nonsense attitude.
