Week 7
Finally getting there
So we have been working very hard on all aspects of the film. This week has really been focused on getting the final puppets completed and we are pretty much there now. Nigel and Mabel are really coming together and each of the sizes of the puppets are getting to the finialised stage. Nigel and Mabel are now decked out in their outfits and will soon be ready for their acting debuts!
Bec and Elise have been working hard on the sets, with a lot of time now going into getting the sets laser cut. As we've had some issues with getting our sets just cut, Sarah and Michelle who run laser cutting came to our rescue and helped us to start planning for this process. So a fair amount of time has been spent on drawing up the designs for our proposed shop fronts and then transferring them into Adobe Illustrator to get them ready to go for laser cutting.
We also went shopping this week for the materials for our sets. And what a struggle that has been! We are going to be using MDF for our sets, but getting the right thickness for the laser cutter has proved a problem. We were limited to 4mm and boy it was hard to find that. After travelling around a far few places we just had to accept that we were not going to get that thickness. So 3mm was the answer! As well as using hardboard. But we now finally have all the material we need and are ready for the next stage!
