Week 3
Storyboarding continues
Model Making Workshop
So our beginning wire structure for out puppet has been made and the pelvis and chest have been created using Ultra Light Sculpey. This provides a firm surface for the animator to hold when animating the model. Our puppet is now ready for the next stage
The next stage is to add "bones" to our puppet. This is done using polymorph and placed where the bones are wanted and then the space left between is where the joints are. So here our puppet is being measured up,
Once the polymorph has been suitably measured, it is then placed into boiling water to make it pliable. When it is ready it is quickly yoinked out and then speedily wrapped around the wire, tight enough so that there is no wiggle room. It is then left to cool and solidify again and the process repeats for the remaining bones.
So here our puppet is at the start of their "bone" placement. Once they have all their "bones" attached they can then be taken into the next stage, which will be continued next week .
